Steve’s modern Super-Suit is reminiscent of his Earth 616 uniform in the comics, s well as the original suit he wore in the movies. The suit is made of a nomex and kevlar fibre, and offers a medium amount of resistance to force impacts. It is light, and allows it’s wearer to be agile and flexible.
In the Winter Soldier, his newest uniform is built with Stealth more in mind.
He can clip his shield on the back with the power of magnetic alloy.
The uniform mask also has night vision, and the uniform masks his heat signatures.
Otherwise, his clothing is quite normal - albeit a tad old fashioned. He often opts to sport plaid, collared button down-shirts, and is often seen in a motorcycle jacket.
Powers/Abilities:
As a result of Operation: Rebirth, Steve Rogers gained speed, strength, flexibility, endurance and agility of nearly superhuman levels. These heightened abilities coupled with his unwavering courage and “never say die” attitude eventually made him Captain America, a living legend.
Team Affiliation:
Avengers
Personality:
Captain America wants to see people working together and harmonizing well. He does not like to see conflict or resentment between his teammates. He is sensitive to the emotional well-being of the people he saves, which differentiates him from many of the other Avengers. Captain America is straightforward and open with his emotions, and makes his decisions based on sentiment rather than hard facts. He is subjective in his judgements rather than objective, weighing the merit of people by intangible elements such as heroism, honor, and righteousness. He does things to make people happy, including parading in costume around the country. He works cooperatively with SHEILD, and generally does what he is supposed to.
Steve is constantly drawing on his previous experience as data. Even meeting a psychopathic god in the courtyard of a museum was “…just like this time I was…”. It is this function that makes him particularly interesting as a character out of the past, his sense of nostalgia is even more exaggerated. Captain America is a good tactician, drawing on his memory and experience and comparing it to the situation at hand. He gets attached to certain things, such as his shield, going from trash-can lid, to an indestructible weapon. He sees how multiple possibilities could happen, but this is not his strong suit. Generally, he gets something set into his head, and sticks to it. There are times, however, where he is good at thinking outside of the box, and handling things very resourcefully. For instance, when he knocks over the flagpole instead of trying to climb up it, or breaks int storage instead of waiting for a computer hack. He sees the world with possibilities, and can be stubborn despite any resistance he gets. He applied to the army five times, because he always saw a chance that he would be accepted.
He is always making sure to calculate his words to mean what he says. When he rationalizes things, he does it to himself. He doesn’t spend time trying to analyze or categorize things. Instead, he acts on what he thinks is right, and doesn’t need to weigh the pros and cons. Captain America does his duty. Above all, he is a soldier. He always does what he feels is right, and stands up for the little guys. He performs when he needs to, fights when he needs to, and takes the hits when he needs to. He doesn’t do it for larger principals, other than he wants to do good by people. He isn’t trying to be a martyr, just trying to be a good guy.
Family:
His father Joseph Rogers had been a soldier in World War I. He died when Steve was very young. From him, Steve came to value service, courage and honor.
From his mother Sarah, who died of pneumonia when Steve was barely a teen and able to care for himself, Steve learned to be resourceful, compassionate and humble. Though he did not have long with either of his parents, Steve incorporated their Catholic and Irish values, and deeply cherished his role as a first-generation American.
Marital Status: Unmarried
History:
Steve’s life was rough for a time. But then there was Bucky. And everything seemed to be fine, because even if Steve no longer had a blood family, he now had a friend. He also had a promise.
However, by the early 1940s, Steve Rogers was not a soldier. He was a scrawny fine arts student specializing in illustration. Though he’d once promised his mother to never let his body get in the way of his soldering dreams, Steve had adapted through time to make an alternate path for himself as a comic book writer and artist. Besides, America wasn’t even in any war. By the time America had entered the war, though, and Bucky was ready to be shipped off, Steve had decided he could put his artistry aside to honor both his father and country. There was only one small problem. Quite literally, in fact.
The problem was Steve. Well, not so much Steve as it was his body. Since young, Steve had suffered from a multiplicity of health issues, not excluding asthma, several allergies and a rather fragile set of bones. As his mother had once told him, though, Steve was stubborn. His resolute will to get drafted finally managed to land him an opportunity, particularly as a member of “Project Rebirth.” Alas, not everything went right according to plan and Steve found himself far away from the field.
The following months became a blur of shows and flashes before Steve was able to fight alongside Bucky and the other soldiers in Europe. By the time he’d acquired both respect from his fellow soldiers and victory against the Nazis, Steve found himself without Bucky, without his new-found love Peggy and crashing into frozen water, where he remained comatose for close to 70 years.
When Steve woke up, he was recruited for the Avengers initiative, and helped save New York.
